lots of silicone compound glue to fix the parts, but it's doing the job pretty well.

in fact, the design of the NES case is perfect and most fitting for any upgrades : form factor of the DVD drive, space for the hard disk, and half the screws of the original motherboard fits with the itx form factor, and the airflow is good. just had to add a couple of screws but that's about it, so if you have an old nes : keep it. they're precious. also kept the original matsushita shielding for the audio chipset

todo, eventually : rewire the front panel's com ports and add manual power switches, if that's even worth wiring them : it's never off and starts as soon it's plugged in. thanks to windows 2003 server, the reset will collect dust.

Gentoo? no. i want it to boot fast, and run games.

AOpen i945GMt-FSA, a couple of fans running half speed (7v rail) to keep the t2300 cool. all the parts were retrieved from a ruined dell laptop :meow: 60 gigas of emulation games, mp3 and more.. feels good man.

indeed, that's still my main audio player, hooked on the hifi. it's not like being a boeing with nvidia cards on it, and the onboard DAC is surprisingly decent, even on analogue output.

why destroy something that was perfect?

:iconbrujo:
because it was partially destroyed when i found it. so i rebuilt it and enhanced it using science !

it's not perfect yet, since it's an intel-based but it's close to it.
